Information about your outpatient operation
After an outpatient operation, you can usually go home on the same day as your procedure. Recovery takes place in familiar surroundings at home. To ensure that you are well prepared for outpatient treatment or surgery, please note the following information on preparations and formalities.
Anaesthesia consultation
The anaesthesia consultation takes place a few days before the operation. Together with your anaesthetist, you will determine the most suitable anaesthetic procedure for you. You will have the opportunity to discuss any questions and uncertainties relating to the operation. You are welcome to bring your relatives with you to the consultation.
Please complete all the documents sent to you and bring them with you to the anaesthesia consultation. If available, please bring the following with you:
- X-rays
- ECG
- blood values
- Medication card and medication you are currently taking
- Allergy passport
- Anticoagulation card
- Blood group identification card
- Pacemaker passport
- Endocarditis prophylaxis card
- Medication card and necessary medication
Preparations before your admission
You may eat and drink until the evening before the day of admission (midnight), after that please remain sober.
We ask you to do the following so that our equipment is not affected:
- Remove piercings and jewellery before the operation
- Avoid nail varnish, make-up or body care products
- Remove contact lenses and dentures or partial dentures
- Please also ensure that you bring the necessary documents with you.
