Nowadays, patients are more likely to present with complex clinical pictures and multiple co-existing conditions. At the same time, an increasing number of different specialist disciplines are involved in their treatment. With this reorganisation, Zollikerberg Hospital is aligning its inpatient care even more closely with patients’ treatment pathways and strengthening collaboration across specialist disciplines.

In future, there will be a clearly defined overall responsibility for coordinating the course of inpatient treatment for complex in-patient cases. The aim is to strengthen collaboration between the specialist disciplines involved and to establish clear lines of responsibility within the hospital.
