TCM Zollikerberg
"Our focus is not on your complaints, but on you as a person with all your needs." Prof. (chin.). Jingtao Dong, Head of TCM Zollikerberg
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is based on 3000 years of medical knowledge. It considers the harmonious interplay of polar forces and offers a wide range of complementary treatments to conventional medicine. TCM is particularly effective for chronic complaints. After a comprehensive consultation and a pulse and tongue diagnosis, our therapists will draw up a personalised treatment plan for you.

Osteopathy at our TCM practice
In collaboration with the FFHS Master’s programme in Osteopathy, we offer free osteopathic treatments provided by advanced Master’s students. This partnership enables students to deepen their practical training in a professional clinical setting. All treatments take place under the professional supervision of experienced FFHS lecturers and meet high quality standards. The service is aimed at patients with functional problems of the musculoskeletal system, muscle tension and back, neck or joint pain.
Gentle acupuncture, soothing therapies and more
Soothing therapies
In addition to acupuncture, other forms of therapy are used - including the broad spectrum of TCM herbal medicine, heat treatments, Tuina massages, cupping, Gua Sha therapy and Chinese osteopathy. A conscious diet and certain breathing and movement exercises also have a health-promoting effect.

Comprehensive diagnosis
In addition to a thorough interview and examination of the person, the diagnosis also includes an assessment of body sounds and odours. The pulse and tongue also provide important information.
Gentle and painless acupuncture thanks to laser needle therapy
The blocked life energy is activated by inserting needles at certain points on the body. In our practice, we also practise acupuncture with laser needles. For patients who are particularly sensitive to pain and for children, treatment is carried out with a red laser beam on the acupuncture points.

TCM for menstrual pain: causes, patterns and treatment
Menstrual pain is one of the most common complaints associated with the female cycle. For many women, it is recurrent and can significantly impair their quality of life. In our TCM practice at Zollikerberg Hospital, we do not regard period pain as a uniform clinical picture, but rather as an expression of various functional imbalances in the body. At the centre of this is the question of why the free flow of Qi (vital energy) and blood is disturbed. The treatment is therefore not only focussed on the symptom of pain, but also on the underlying constellation.

TCM tips for summer: staying in tune with the seasons
The summer months bring long days, high temperatures and more time spent outdoors. Many people enjoy the extra energy, but when the heat persists, they can also feel exhausted, restless or stressed more quickly. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) regards summer as a time of growth, activity and joie de vivre. With a few simple habits, you can support your personal well-being even on hot days.
