BreastCentre Zurich

Breastfeeding is a valuable experience that requires time, patience and support for both mother and child. Our certified breastfeeding counsellors will guide you through this learning process, from pregnancy through the postpartum period to the later breastfeeding phase. Whether you have questions, challenges or simply need additional support, we are here to help you with our expertise and commitment. Our breastfeeding counselling service is not only aimed at women who have given birth at Zollikerberg Hospital, but also at all other mothers who are looking for professional support with breastfeeding.

Competent breastfeeding support during your stay

From the very first hours after the birth, we provide you with empathetic support when breastfeeding your baby and help you with personalised breastfeeding techniques. Our specialists will help you to find a comfortable breastfeeding position and overcome typical initial difficulties.

We will give you comprehensive advice on:

  • Breastfeeding positions and latch-on techniques for pain-free and effective breastfeeding
  • Recognising your baby's signs of hunger
  • Prevention and treatment of milk stasis, sore nipples or breast inflammation
  • Promotion of sufficient milk production
  • Low-laser therapy (red light laser) to promote wound healing and pain relief
  • Breastfeeding premature babies or twins
  • Breastfeeding with insufficient weight gain of the newborn
