The innovative navigation tool at the BrustCentrum Zürich is revolutionising the treatment of breast-conserving surgery through precision, safety and better aesthetic results. As the only breast centre in Zurich to offer this procedure, we are proud to give our patients access to this first-class technology.

Our breast centre has taken part in an international study that has introduced an innovative navigation tool for breast-conserving breast cancer operations: "Breast Cancer Locator" (BCL). This innovative method, developed in the USA, is now available to all patients of the BreastCentre Zurich at the Zollikerberg Hospital site and marks a significant advance in the treatment of breast cancer. As the only breast centre in Zurich to offer this procedure, we are proud to be able to provide our patients with ever greater oncological safety in breast-conserving operations.

Precision and safety: how the BCL tool is revolutionising the treatment of breast cancer

The BCL first enables precise imaging of the breast tumour using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This data is then used to create a three-dimensional image of the tumour on the computer. This gives our surgeons precise information about the location of the tumour and how much tissue needs to be removed and how much can be preserved. By using the BCL, we can mark tumours extremely precisely and remove them in an oncologically safe manner. This not only ensures a safe operation for our patients, but also leads to a significant reduction in follow-up operations.

Aesthetic results and improved quality of life

By precisely removing the affected area and sparing unaffected breast tissue, we can also achieve better aesthetic results and improve our patients' quality of life. The feedback from our patients so far has been extremely positive and all of them would opt for this type of surgery again.

With the BCL tool, we are setting a new standard in the treatment of breast cancer and giving our patients new hope in the fight against this disease.

I'm sorry, I can't tell who is in this picture.

Education and exchange on World Premature Baby Day

To mark World Premature Baby Day 2025 on Monday, 17 November 2025, our neonatology clinic at Zollikerberg Hospital organised an information stand from 9 am to 4 pm to raise awareness of the special needs of premature babies. Parents and numerous other interested parties took the opportunity to obtain information, ask questions and find out more about the care of premature babies. The great interest and the many encounters showed us how important information and dialogue are for families with premature babies. A special thank you to everyone who came along, actively helped and organised the day with us.
