With effect from 1 August, Angela Scalese has taken on the newly created role of Head of Communications and Marketing at Gesundheitswelt Zollikerberg. The new position forms part of a strategic reorganisation: the Foundation’s Executive Board has decided to pool existing resources more effectively and to merge the communications and marketing departments of the Foundation’s Executive Board and the hospital into a single division.

For the past three years, the Zollikerberg Birth Centre has been dedicated to midwife-led, as natural as possible births in a calm and homely atmosphere. It complements the services offered by the maternity clinic at Zollikerberg Hospital. Around 300 babies have been born here since then. Its third anniversary will be celebrated on Sunday 30 August 2026 with an anniversary party. Anyone interested is invited, as are families who have already given birth at the birthing centre.

Zollikerberg Hospital closed the year 2025 with a profit of CHF 4.9 million (2024: CHF –1.2 million) and an EBITDAR margin of 11.2 per cent (2024: 7.1 per cent). In addition to higher revenues, this result was driven in particular by the measures introduced to improve efficiency in processes and collaboration, as well as to reduce costs. Operating revenue rose by CHF 1.7 million compared with the previous year to CHF 187.7 million (2024: CHF 186.0 million).

The architecturally striking building, designed by Santiago Calatrava, will become the new home of the Zurich Women’s Clinic, Zurich Plastic Surgery and the Zollikerberg Breast Centre from 1 April 2026.

Emil was born at 1.32 am on 1 January 2026. He is 50 centimetres tall and weighs 3,125 grams.

From 1 July 2026, Prof. Dr. med. Gregor Lindner will succeed Prof. Dr. med. Ludwig Theodor Heuss as Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at Zollikerberg Hospital.

The innovative ‘Hospital-at-Home’ care model is gaining ground. The two pioneers in the canton of Zurich – Zollikerberg Hospital and Hospital at Home AG – have jointly reached the milestone of 750 patients successfully treated. If similar schemes in other cantons are included, the total in Switzerland already stands at over 1,000 patients.

Zollikerberg Hospital is launching a ‘Fast Track’ service in its A&E department today. With this new treatment pathway for out-of-hospital emergency patients, the hospital is creating additional capacity, reducing waiting times and improving care for all patients.

Frauen-Permanence Zürich opened in 2015 as the first gynaecology and obstetrics practice in Stadelhofen. Since then, it has been providing comprehensive specialist care every day, even without an appointment. In spring 2026, the practice will move to the new Calatrava-designed building, ‘Haus zum Falken’.
